Grammar Present Subjunctive Verb Ser - to be
Overview

Irregular verbs do not follow standard rules of conjugation in the different verb tenses. The verb ser (conjugation) is irregular in the present subjunctive:

yo sea (I be)
seas (you be)
Ud./él/ ella sea (you be)
nosotros (as) seamos (we be)
vosotros (as) seáis (you guys be)
Uds./ellos/ ellas sean (you all/they be)

Let's look at some example sentences:

¿Quiere que sea testigo?
Do you want me to be a witness?

No importa que sea de otro país.
It doesn’t matter if it's from another county.
