Overview

Numbers 30 to 90 de diez en diez (counting by tens).

 30 treinta
 40 cuarenta
 50 cincuenta
 60 sesenta
 70 setenta
 80 ochenta
 90 noventa

After the 30's, when we add the units to the numbers we simply add y (and). For example:

treinta y dos - thirty and two
cincuenta y siete - fifty and seven
.
El mes tiene treinta días. - The month has 30 days.

La señora tiene cincuenta gatos. - The lady has 50 cats.

Yo tengo setenta y un botellas. - I have 71 bottles.

La niña tiene sesenta y siete manzanas. - The girl has 67 apples.

Note: We omit the o after number one when it is followed by a noun.

Traes cuarenta y un candelas.
You bring forty-one candles.
