mucho = a lot/many

      I have a lot of work.

Hay mucha pizza.
      There is a lot of pizza.

poco = little/few

Hay poco tráfico.
      There's little traffic.

Este carro usa muy poca gasolina.
      This car uses very little gasoline.

Pero los vuelos son pocos.
      But the flights are few.

      He has few apples.
