Present Participle
The present participle (gerund) is formed from the infinitive of a verb by removing the (ar), (er), or (ir) ending and adding (ando) for (ar) verbs, and (iendo) for (er) and (ir) verbs.

Are you playing with your bothers and sisters?
Luisito: No, Fernando está haciendo tareas y Lorena está ayudando a mi mamá.
No, Fernando is doing chores and Lorena is helping my mom.

My love, I am buying (shopping) in the supermarket.
Jorgito: ¿Me estás comprando dulces?
Are you buying me sweets?
Mamá: No, se te están picando los dientes.
No, they (the sweets) are giving you cavities.
Jorgito: Está bien. Pero me estoy cepillando todos los días.
OK. But I am brushing every day.
Mamá: Muy bien. Dime, ¿qué está haciendo tu hermana Gaby?
Very well. Tell me, what is your sister Gaby doing?
Jorgito: Está chateando con su novio.
She is chatting (via text) with her boyfriend.
Mamá: Y tu papi, ¿qué está haciendo?
And your father, what is he doing?
Jorgito: Me está buscando.
He is looking for me.
Mamá: ¿Por qué te está buscando? ¿Dónde estás?
Why is he looking for you? Where are you?
