Evaluation from vjackson:
This is one of the best schools that I have ever corresponded with. They communicate quickly and clearly.
Evaluation from nxschulz:
I did not have much knowledge of the language. However, I now can understand it quite well and can carry on a basic conversation.
Evaluation from wanderson:
I made a huge improvement in comprehension as well as conversation in the language. I am finally able to construct correct sentences.
Evaluation from Wendy:
I had a great experience at this school. The teachers are well trained and friendly, and my host family open and welcoming. The campus was clean and very well maintained and the program was well organized. The best in Cuernavaca, in my experience.
Evaluation from Dan:
I was completely happy with my time at Chac Mool and recommend it to everyone. The method the school uses helps the students learn Spanish really fast.
Evaluation from Tracey:
Everything about the experience was fantastic, from registration to the final day. Highly recommend.
Evaluation from Win:
WOW I just returned from this school and give it the highest of recommendations.

Evaluation from scarlson:
The teachers here are great, and I couldn't have asked for a better host family. The classes are small and are geared towards students' language needs. I highly recommend Chac-Mool!
Evaluation from sandybridges:
Excellent school, methodology is superior and teachers very well trained and friendly. Lots of cultural activities and my host family was 3 minutes walk from the school and the nicest people ever. Highly recommend everything about this school.
Evaluation from MissMyth:
Everything about this school is recommended. The instruction, excursions, host families, their free tutoring , and the nightly events. What I especially like is that you pay your host family personally. Because other Cuernavaca schools have you pay the school and not the family. Then the family gets about 50% of the payment after the student leaves. Not fair since the family does a lot of work and is so important to the immersion process.
Evaluation from Dontrespond:
I just returned from six weeks at Instituto Chac-Mool and recommend it to anyone who wants a true immersion program. The tuition fee covered many activities from Mexican cooking to Latin Dancing. An excellent value. My Mexican "mama" was really special and I look forward to seeing her again.
Evaluation from boisegal:
Wow, I had the time of my life and I learned so much Spanish. Cuernavaca has so much to see and do and the locals are friendly. I found it to be the perfect destination to be immersed in Spanish. My teachers rocked, I had several different teachers in my 3 weeks at IMC. The private tutoring after class was really worthwhile and it didn't cost anything extra.
Evaluation from doublet:
Impressive program with a variety of courses and things to do. I also received college credit for my studies. Exceptional method for teaching Spanish. 5 stars and then some.
Evaluation from TahoeGal:
I have already recommended this school to several friends. I've studied 2 summers at Instituto Chac-Mool and love it. The best school in Cuernavaca.
Evaluation from mejai1:
My 5 year-old son and I attended this school for two weeks in July 2012, and we had a good time. In the children's program, he didn't learn a whole lot of Spanish, but he did learn some from spending time with our host family. I had a bit of difficulty finding the right level in my first week, but it all worked out in the end. At the time, I didn't feel as if I was learning that much (I had an intermediate knowledge of Spanish when I got there), but once I returned, I could tell that my understanding increased. Also, I was able to go straight from Spanish 2 last semester to Spanish 4 in my college coursework (but I also did a lot of independent self-study over the summer).
Evaluation from avidspanishlearner:
My son and I attended Chac-Mool for two weeks in the summer of 2012, and we had a great experience. I learned a great deal, but the children's program didn't teach very much Spanish. I understand that they're re-evaluating it to include more language lessons. The school was extremely busy when we were there, and class size was around 5-7 per teacher. I had difficulty finding the right level of class in the first week, but settled into the Advanced level 1 class in the second week (There are three sub-levels per each of Beginning/Intermediate/Advanced). The homestay family was very nice, and the food was fine. The facilities are attractive, and the staff is very agreeable and fun. The pool is not heated, and it was much too cold to enjoy. I do think that I would go again, but I'd also like to see other Latin American cities and countries first.
Evaluation from spahkee:
Nice facility. Teachers are less structured and compared to Costa Rica, the teachers aren't as professional - what value is listening to a Spanish song and writing the words down for an hour going to do to help a beginner versus working on practical conversation. I'm not convinced that the teachers are as well trained as other teachers in other schools. Home stay families are fun and located close to the school and the management tries hard to work with the students to accomodate their needs. In the late Fall, students vary in age and are generally American or Canadian and are in their late 20s/early 30s - can't say what it looks like in the summer. Cuernavaca is a nice city located close to attractions that you can get to in one afternoon trip with lots of historical sites to visit. Weekend trips can easily be made to Taxco, Mexico City or Acapulco and there was a fun social vibe augmented by good activities organized by the school - cooking class, dancing, a welcome Monday after school happy hour..... If the quality of some of the instructors could be a bit better and more consistent, this would be a great school.
